I spend a great deal of my time often reflecting on the past and what I learnt from different situations life has offered. It’s healthy to reflect on the lessons that we can take away from them. So! Here are some of the most important lessons I have learned over 19 years.
1.People Will Come And They Will Also Go, That's Natural
Sometimes you can't hold people permanently in your life even in you want them to and they have been there for a long time, for if they want to go. Let them! But also treasure the moments you have with others, life is about filling yourself with moments of happiness.
2.Good Things Come To Those Who Wait And WORK
My mum did a good job of teaching me patience for things from a young age. As I grew older, I understood that sometimes it's still a very good trait to have patience but also it takes a little effort to attract goodness into your life. Therefore, patience is KEY but hard work makes it worth your while.
3.Karma Is Real, Energy Rebounds
What you give is what you receive, the energy you radiate is what you will eventually attract. I’ve seen situations where the reaping happens before my eyes, focus on what sow - it will return.
4.Sleep Well
Sleep is an essential part of our lives, we spend on average 4 months sleeping in a year. It's vital for rejuvenation of cells and organs. Not to forget our subconscious comes live during our sleep cycle. To sleep well remove blue lighting closer to when you may fall asleep, our devices have the night mode setting - use it! It really helps your eyes to adjust, moving you into an easier sleep.
5.Treasure Your Moments With Older Family Members
The moments we have with the older people in our families are limited, don't forget to cherish them and the knowledge and wisdom they have brought with them, saves you going through it. Ask them about their childhood (then again, they will probably volunteer!), one day you will find it was the most significant conversation in your life...
6.Everyone Seeks Good/Love (Most Of The Time)
Most people aren’t intrinsically evil, most people actually seek what they think is love but in truth turn out to be bad on themselves or others. It is sometimes is why people make mistakes, their intention was for good but turned out sour. Learn to give people a chance if they seek goodness.
7.Spend 1 Hour A Day Loving Yourself
Take a small amount of time a day to invest in yourself, whether you work every day or study. You are giving a lot of your time to others. Take some of that to invest back into yourself, to do whatever will improve yourself for a better future.
8.Drink Plenty - Cranberry Juice And Water
Typical but very true! Drink, drink drink water! Add a glass of cranberry juice to decrease chance of bladder problems and dehydration.
9.Do Something You Love And Do It Well
Invest in your passions, each of us are put on this earth with a talent which encourages driving our passions. It is your right to invest time in something you love that helps serve people, that’s part of our life purpose.
10.Sometimes Little Is More With Makeup
Sometimes you deserve to go all out and stunt with A1 make up, clothes, whatever. Take the time to value your appearance people are attracted to appearance before personality.
11.Have A Morning Ritual
You need to guide your day as soon as your wake up, an arrow without a target is useless! I have developed a morning routine for this year and already it has made the days more productive and occupied.
12.First 5
The first 5 people you associate yourself with describe who you are, I learned that sometimes you have to bring positive and productive people closer to your heart to attaining their essence into your own life. And the same goes for distancing yourself away from people who may not bring any positivity into your life.
13.Decorate Your Body
The human body is a work of art in itself, we should always appreciate and admire it. Decorate your body with gold, silver, jewels etc. I have a few piercings that to me enhance my natural beauty and accessorise my body in a beautiful yet simple way.
14. Run If You Need To
In times of immense stress, I take a run. Out in the open, around the block wherever I am. Physical exercise is known to sharpen and clear our minds.
15.Don't Neglect Your Mind
Mental health is becoming more important in today's society, in the same way always remember to check your emotions and your mental health. It is just as important as your physical health.
16.Buy A Plant
Bring a little bit of nature into your home. If I’m honest, I haven't been very good with plants ha! But they are a great way to ventilate your home with oxygen, a natural decoration and are great for the mind as well.
17.Thick Skin
More recently, the importance of being immune to people’s opinion. Life can sometimes be hard, and the people in it even harder. It's here where a thick skin can guard your heart from people who not so good intentions and their energies.
18.Selective Kindness
Leading on from lesson 17, we are to learn to be very selective to who kindness is given to. Don’t be a shut off, give kindness to those who give it to you.
19.Dream Big
Most cliché yet so so crucial to me, dream so big that it scares you and then aim for it. There is no rule in the world that you can’t aim for greatness, greater than anyone has ever done and more.
So, there you have it! My 19 lessons from life so far. Yes, there are so many more to learn throughout life and I look forward to every one which comes by. Reflect on these and think about the lessons you’ve learned, and have excitement for the many more that are to come!
